Australian band King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have just announced that they have selected 5 countries for a multi-show residency in the same city. The band, led by Stu McKenzie, have chosen Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Greece and Bulgaria for the experience, offering three consecutive shows at Barcelona’s Poble Espanyol in Spain.
The band, who are expected to release their 26th studio album in the near future, will include some of the blues/rock and country-flavoured new songs played live during a recent European tour. The Australians have already done some mirroring of the residency concept in North America (Tennessee, Chicago or Denver) in 2023, and traditionally do not repeat songs during each of the three gigs in a particular venue.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard’s 2025 Euro Residency Tour dates are:
- May 18, 19, 20: Lisbon (Coliseu do Recreios)
- May 23, 24, 25: Barcelona (Poble Espanyol)
- May 29, 30, 31: Vilnius, Lithuania (Lukiškės Prison 2.0)
- June 4, 5, 6: Athens (Lycabettus Theatre City of Athens)
- June 8, 9, 10: Plovdiv, Bulgaria (Ancient Theatre)
Tickets for the Barcelona concerts, which will take place from 23-25 May 2025, will be priced at €40 (+ booking fee) and will go on sale at DICE, while 3-day ‘season tickets’ will be priced at €108 (+ booking fee) and will only be available in the band’s official pre-sale on this form, which will be available until 11 June at 23:59.
