The Dharma Chain performed in Barcelona with the composure of a band that knows exactly what it wants and how to achieve it. At Sala Laut, they gave a restrained performance, focusing more on building atmosphere than making an immediate impact — and that was precisely where much of its appeal lay.

Their live performance exuded a sense of controlled intensity. The guitars carved out space with ease, the rhythm section held everything together with precision, and the band built an increasingly immersive atmosphere without ever losing focus. Their approach had a touch of dark psychedelia, but they were clearly determined never to overstep the boundaries, as if every move were calculated to sustain the tension without breaking it.

The balance between expansion and restraint was one of the key elements of the evening. The Dharma Chain avoided any excess, instead opting for a continuous build-up where the focus was more on the soundscape than showmanship. The result was a concert that evolved organically, with a patient rhythm and an increasingly defined identity.

Overall, the impression was of having seen a band at an interesting stage in their development, with a short but distinctive and well-crafted setlist. It wasn’t a concert of grand gestures, but one of conviction — and perhaps that is precisely why it left such a lasting impression.
