With just under a month to go, the In-Edit Barcelona music documentary film festival has announced its full programme. Taking place from 22 October to 1 November at the Mooby Aribau Cinemas in Barcelona, the 24th edition of the festival will feature around 70 films divided into several sections, including 17 world premieres and four European premieres.
Among the major attractions on the programme are the European premiere of Depeche Mode: M‘, recounting the British band’s special concert in Mexico during their recent Memento Mori tour; the first official documentary about Ol’ Dirty Bastard, founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan; ‘It’s Never Over: Jeff Buckley‘, a documentary about one of the most prodigious and enigmatic voices of the 1990s; and an in-depth look at Boy George and his iconic band, Culture Club.
So, the rest of the festival is going to be amazing, with everything from ‘Spinal Tap II: The End Continues‘, which is the long-awaited sequel to that 1984 mockumentary about the fictional rock band Spinal Tap, to ‘Monk in Pieces‘. That one’s all about the visionary composer and performer Meredith Monk, and it’s got interviews with Björk and David Byrne, as well as documentaries about Fugazi, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, the Sex Pistols, Marala and Suzanne Ciani.
The complete festival programme and ticket sales are available on the official website of the In-Edit Barcelona festival. Tickets cost €10 each, €34 for a pack of four that can be shared among several people, or €40 for a non-transferable individual pass.
