On Wednesday, L’Equip<\/a>‘s team organised an evening of dream pop, featuring the German band Roller Derby and local act Drug Holiday<\/strong>. Judging by the huge crowd that turned up at the Vol venue, where the ‘Sold Out’ sign was on display, the event was a resounding success.<\/p>\n

Drug Holiday<\/strong> opened the evening with a setlist of tracks from their debut album, Treatment Interruptio<\/em>n (2024). With a blend of styles that sometimes recalled 1980s synth\/electro-pop, only to introduce hints of punk moments later, the band, led by Daniel Mar\u00edn<\/strong>, delivered a polished performance that suggests a promising future. <\/p>\n

The German duo, Philine Meyer<\/strong> (vocals) and Manuel Romero Soria<\/strong> (guitar), followed them and spent the evening performing almost the entirety of their latest album, When the Night Comes<\/em> (2025). Gradually picking up the tempo with captivating Beach House<\/strong>-style melodies, their sound brimmed with tracks such as \u2018Lights Out<\/em>\u2019 and \u2018Your Love Is a Lie<\/em>\u2019. However, it was an older track like \u2018Always on My Mind<\/em>\u2019, with its much more danceable beat, that proved to be the highlight of the night. Their final song, the melancholic ‘Goodbye’, was also a huge hit. <\/p>\n\n
